FILE SPECS

Choose a product below for specific file guidelines. (Hit us up with any questions.)

BASIC INFO (READ THIS FIRST)

We prefer editable, layered files whenever possible. Vector files are preferred for all text, logos, and objects (everything but illustrations and photos). Here are some other helpful tips:

 · We use the latest version of Adobe Creative Cloud (CC).

 · In general, your artwork can be full-color, edge-to-edge.

 · Use CMYK color mode (not RGB). RGB files will be converted to CMYK before printing.

 · While we print CMYK, we can closely approximate Pantone colors. All Pantone values will be converted to CMYK before printing.

 · Convert all text to outlines and expand all appearance effects.

 · File types accepted: *.ai, *.eps, *.pdf, *.psd, *.tif, *.jpg, *.png

 · Raster files (illustrations and photos) should be 150 dpi to 300 dpi at full-size (except huge backdrops, those can be 1/2 size).

 · If your background is an image/texture (not a solid color), just make it full-size (no additional bleed is necessary).

 · There is no art set-up fee if your artwork is ready to print. Send us your logo and we’ll handle the layout for you.  A basic mockup is no charge. If the we need to make any changes that cost money, we’ll let you know before hand.

 · Make sure to check your artwork carefully before approving a mockup for print. Once it’s approved, no changes can be made. If you need to see a larger proof or a close-up before you approve, just ask.

 · Small test prints for backdrops/banners are available for a small fee (art can be scaled or cropped) should you need to see printed colors/art in person before approving a large-format order.

 · We’re available for any file questions at email@woodshedstageart.com – feel free to put your designer in touch with us.

DRUMHEADS

 · Direct Print and Printed Ply heads can be full-color, edge-to-edge.

 · Custom Classic heads can be 1-2 color vectors on white, black, clear, or chrome/gold.

 · Use CMYK color mode (use 33/33/22/100 for rich black). Pantone and RGB colors will be converted to CMYK.

 · Extend backgrounds an extra 1in all around for “full bleed” (e.g., art for 22in heads should be 23in x 23in.)

 · Keep all important text/logos within 1in from edge (safe zone).

 · Mic Holes: You can indicate the approx. size/location of the mic hole if you’d like, but please make sure the circle is not embedded into the art and can be removed (or is in a layer that can be turned off). Most mic holes are 4in diameter, but we can also cut 5in or 6in holes. Standard placement is lower-right (4:00-5:00 position). If you don’t indicate placement, we’ll place it where it makes the most sense.

There is no art set-up fee if your artwork is ready to print. Send us your logo and we’ll handle the layout for you.  A basic mockup is no charge. We can add brand endorsement logos (no charge) as well. If the we need to make any changes that cost money, we’ll let you know before hand.

BANJO HEADS

 · Most banjos take 11in Medium-Collar heads, which is what we’re set up to print.

 · Direct Print banjo heads can be full-color, edge-to-edge.

 · Use CMYK color mode (use 33/33/22/100 for rich black).

 · Extend backgrounds an extra 1in for “full bleed” (art for 11in heads should be 12in x 12in.)

 · Keep all important text/logos within 1in from edge (safe zone).

 · For best printing results, we recommend Remo Smooth White, Bottom-Coated, or Fiberskyn banjo heads. (The Remo logo may be visible on Top-Coated and Fiberskyn heads after printing, but can be hidden by the tail piece.)

There is no art set-up fee if your artwork is ready to print. Send us your logo and we’ll handle the layout for you.  A basic mockup is no charge. We can add brand endorsement logos (no charge) as well. If the we need to make any changes that cost money, we’ll let you know before hand.

GRILL CLOTH

 · Your artwork can be full-color, edge-to-edge.

 · Use CMYK color mode (use 33/33/33/100 for rich black).

 · If your’re ordering a Removable grill (with velcro), your art will be the exact opening size.

 · If your’re ordering a Classic grill (you’re installing it), add 2in to each side (e.g., art for 24in square cabs should be 28in x 28in.)

 · Keep all important text/logos within 1in from edge of visible opening (safe zone).

How to measure your guitar/bass amp cabinet for new grill cloth:

 · Measure the height and width (in inches) of the current grill’s visible opening and send us those specs.

 · If we’re sending you a straight-cut printed panel that you’ll install, we’ll add a few extra inches to the measurement.

 · If you’re ordering a removable grill panel (with velcro), double check your measurements (these aren’t as forgiving).

 · Please send us the brand and model of the cabinet as well as the dimensions above.
